CHLOE PROVES SHE'S A CUT ABOVE
Wiltshire College student Chloe Smith is celebrating her success in the National Hairdressers' Federation (NHF) International Hairdressing Competition, after winning first and second place in two categories.NVQ Level 2 student Chloe, from the Trowbridge campus, won the 'Night at the Oscars' category where she was required to create a glamorous evening look including hair, make-up and dress within a 30-minute time frame. The prize was £100, a pair of thinning scissors, a diploma and a trophy.
Chloe also came second in the 'Junior Men's Street Scene' freestyle category where she had 20 minutes to create a style to reflect today's look in men's hair and fashion. This achievement won her a diploma.
The prestigious, annual, international competition was held at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool and is open to qualified hairdressers and trainees.
Chloe is hoping to progress onto Level 3 Hairdressing next year and eventually go into technical work.
Wiltshire College Hairdressing Advanced Practitioner, Jane White, said,
"We are very proud that Chloe achieved this success; she is an extremely talented young lady and we are hoping Chloe and our other learners will compete in the NHF national finals in Cardiff and the South West Championships in Weston-super-Mare."
