J O Academy The JO Academy relocated to its new Norwich premises in May 2004 realising its ambition to bring London training opportunities to East Anglia. It is a perfect showcase for its passion for hair. The clean, contemporary ‘feel’ of the new Academy is enhanced by an Italian slate floor and specially designed brushed steel and glass workstations. The functional and stylish salon space is adaptable, offering the opportunity of a huge floor area for demonstrations. Two theory rooms, a flexible third room for either practical or theory, a relaxing rest room and kitchen complete the thrilling working environment.
The JO Academy is a City and Guilds Approved Centre of Education and has been awarded Investors in People (IiP).
Its standing as a high-quality training agency and evident commitment to development in all areas provided the foundation for doubling the number of learners to 76 in 2003. Client demand for small classes of no more than fourteen students, individually tailored to suit the trainees and clients, has continued to rise. With its new premises the Academy’s current number has increased to 114.
The Academy directors, Karen Pymer and Susie Ball, encourage an informal and friendly atmosphere and the umbrella approach gives people the optimum opportunity to develop to their full potential. The philosophy underpinning each training and development element is that it is a partnership: an integrated and continuing process of commitment from which both parties – employer and employee benefit. Objectives for individual and collective training are agreed in advance and reviewed, on completion, against business objectives.
